TITAS 2008 – Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show
General Information TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Co-organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) from tomorrow through Oct. 17.
TITAS 2008 sustains the repositioned concept of “F4+1 — from Fibers to Fabrics for Fashion plus Functions + Full package services.” For the past several editions, the show has been renowned for featuring functional and fashionable aspects of high added-value yarns and fabrics, mostly from Taiwan and other Asian countries. And now, with comfort and bio-friendliness becoming major concerns and interest for textile buyers and consumers, TITAS 2008 will furthermore emphasize “healthy,” “bio-friendly” and “hi-tech” textile materials besides the ever-important themes “fashion” and “function.”
First, the show will allocate a special “eco-textiles image area” featuring exhibitors’ latest R&D results in bio-friendly materials, such as eco-friendly polyester fibers, bio-compatible textile products, textile products made of recycled PET bottles, fibers produced through non-polluting process, dope-dyed fiber and other innovative materials that help preserve our environment. Secondly, there will be a new “organic cotton pavilion” inside the show.
On the exhibitors front, leading Taiwanese manufacturers including Formosa Chemicals, Nan Ya Plastics, Far Eastern, Formosa Taffeta, Chain Yarn, Taiwan Paiho, Lealea Group, Zig Sheng, Shinkong Synthetic Fibers and Tri Ocean are all among the list. They will present their latest functional and fashionable products and technologies, including fibers and yarns made of bamboo charcoal, corn, soybean, metals, as well as anti-bacterial, electromagnetic shielding, UV protective, moisture transferring and quick drying, water-proof and thermal fabrics. Overseas exhibitors will come from Japan, India, mainland China, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia.
